Nick has wide-ranging experience gathered over 30 years in the IT industry, including:
- 25 years’ experience working within the financial sector, including London Market, commercial and retail general insurance, life and pensions, and wealth management.
- Developing enterprise business, applications, functional and data architectures a variety of firms within the insurance, wealth management and public sectors.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Managing projects and engagements up to $9m, for national, regionaland global projects and programmes.
- Designing the functional architecture for a major system to use structured and unstructured data from electronic health records to detect non-disclosure in life insurance applications.
- Defining a regional data warehousing and reporting strategy for a global insurance company.
- Defining and implementing MDM and data governance strategy within a large insurance company.
- Designing and implementing Document Management Systems within three different clients at both a country and global level.
- Good relationship management skills from C-level to grass roots staff
- Strong track record of delivery, including remediation of failing projects and working with difficult stakeholders
- Product selection, vendor management and delivery of packaged solutions within document management, client reporting, wealth management market services, MDM and underwriting systems.
- Bespoke systems development, including BI/data warehousing, policy administration, contact centre systems, and major government databases.
- Delivering using off-shore development and test teams
- Working with a wide variety of methodologies including PRINCE 2, PMBOK, SCRUM, RUP, and internal EY and CSC methodologies.
